June 1, 2012 - "It's a Beautiful Day!"

Okay...not sure...but hopefully, my friends will see this and appreciate it...despite the font!

Today is June 1.  Actually, as I type, it's 12:22 am EDT, so it's June 2.  WHATEVER!  I had a great day...with some ups and downs!

June 1 marked 1 year from being gainfully employed.  I don't sleep a lot right now...too much on my mind.  That said, I decided to say "Rabbit, Rabbit"...and get on it!

I had, as always, an AWESOME SOUL CYCLE class with one of my fave teachers, Sue.  Today, she changed it up a little bit...and made us climb some darned mountain for like 10 minutes...and it wasn't to the Supremes' "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"...but boy howdy, did she make us work (nothing new there...she always inspires us to woot woot...and get it done...I continue to wring out the old bandana)...then we had to sprint to U2's "It's a Beautiful Day"!  Good thing...cuz it really was!  Got the day going...and I was psyched and felt empowered!

After class, I had some iced tea with a pal.  Great chat!  I reached out for some advice...we shared some stories...some smiles and even a couple of tears...but I know...I have a great friend...thank you Soul Cycle!  Next stop...we'll skip the iced tea...and move on to margarooties (but only 2...if you know me!)!

Shortly before 1:00 pm today, I said a special prayer for Stella!  You may not know which "Stella" this prayer is for, but she does...as does her team!  Go Karma Go!

I then had to prepare for a job interview, participate in the interview, see some lovely and fabulous  former colleagues, and then ... I went to the NY Public Library to work on SDMC biz...I applied for a grant (can you say loan?!) and then submitted an app to spend the money I'm hoping to get!  You gotta love the "American Dream", right?!

I submitted grant app and vendor app practically simultaneously...then changed clothes to hop on down to the Cos Club for one...then back to the West Side to celebrate the marriage of one of my most endearing and enduring friendships!  Whoo-hoo!  At this celebration, I saw a very dear friend from my childhood...it's been 20+ years!  Wow...the Lord works in mysterious ways!

So, as I stop typing shortly, I vow to do this more often!  I had an emotional week...you need to read about it and share it with me!  ;-)

If you're yawning...it's b/c it's too late to be up reading this.  Go to bed and start up again tomorrow!

So...to share a few fantastic bits from the weekend:

Friday night: Soul Cycle...Sue led an incredible "Jesus Christ Superstar" class...I wasn't sure what to expect...greatest hits or entire sound track. I was prepared (scared?)...it was AMAZING...but when she played the ultimate song...I really thought we were going into intermission! Haha! I was prepared for a second half! Well, I'll get it when she hosts another JCS ride. A-maz-ing!

Extra special bit: they served some wine afterwards...which I take FULL CREDIT for...heck, we needed to rehydrate after that amazing ride...and it was Friday night!

Saturday:

One word: Badminton!

Then...
Went to the kitchen to make: SUPER DUPER HAPPYSNAX!

Great night...prepared lots of goodies! SD Spicy Nuts, SD Hello Dollies, SD Cheddar Wedges! The SD CW are so delicate...I may need to start producing them a little thicker.

Thoughts?

Sunday:

I went out to Restaurant Depot...FABULOUS AMAZING SPOT! Wow...everything I need...except for a car...which I rent! ;-)

I got back to Manhattan...threw on some bike togs...hopped on bike...headed to Soul Cycle for Louise's "Disney Ride". It was full...alas...no, but wait...one last bike to fill. Yippee! Such a fun ride! Even Mickey Mouse appeared for the final ride!

Piece d'resistance: I had some yummy and fun goodness with two dear pals tonight at Ah Chihuahua! Gotta have a designated "QUESO NIGHT", right?!

Not a bad weekend...at all!

Obsessions - continued

Hi all. Happy Monday!

I went to one of the most awesome Soul Cycle classes today! The 8:30 class came out saying "wow that was so great!". I told Sue (8:30 and 9:30 Soul Superstar) that everyone was talking about it! She agreed to play the same play list again. It turned out to be the birthday "party" playlist of a lady named Lisanne. AWESOME music...Barbra to Abba to The Bangles to The Carpenters. I...LOVED...EVERY MINUTE OF THE SWEAT!

Not sure how I'm going to handle this...my dilemma: I am busy all week and cannot get any more Soul Cycle this week. I'm bummed already!

However...here's a little fun trivia about MY Soul Cycle experience: I SWEAT A LOT! In fact, I decided I needed to know how much I sweat out. [Note: this might gross you out.] So, I decided to weigh my outfit before and after the workout! Turns out...as I state above...I sweat a lot...anywhere from 6-9 oz. That is a glass of water, folks! :-) And, I'm burning anywhere from 400 to 600+ calories per class!

So...if you need a good, cleansing, exhausting yet energizing workout, get yourself to Soul Cycle soon!

Obsessions

I mentioned that I am obsessed with Soul Cycle...it gets me focused...and it's helping me lose some weight...which I need to do! www.soul-cycle.com
I can't seem to get enough of it...despite it being a little pricey, and I need to find a job...and/or sell more Super Duper HappySnax!

Many friends and family know that I am also obsessed with The Beatles! Sooo...when there were TWO Beatles covers in my Soul Cycle class today..."I am the Walrus" and Abbey Road's "Golden Slumbers - Carry that Weight - The End"...well, I busted @$$ on those...so psyched! AND Sue played Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Boston, and Talking Heads. My goodness...KILLER CLASS...LOVED IT!!!

I'll save another fascinating Soul Cycle trivia bit for another post. Stay tuned!

Have an awesome day...I know I will (yes, another Beatles lyric)! I'm seeing my great pals Barbra and Denise today for lunch...and Denise's new baby girl, Liliana Christine...can't wait!

Super Duper Mary Cooper starts blogging...

Hi friends!

My first blog post...how exciting!

What to expect? Well, just about anything...

To get you caught up:

I was laid off ("reduction in work force") in May 2011.
I started Super Duper Mary Cooper Inc. (Super Duper HappySnax (SDHS)) in December 2011.
I'm currently looking for permanent employment while building SDHS.
I am OBSESSED with Soul Cycle...I have lost some lbs., feel great, and I'm motivated!

I will probably post tidbits about food (my passion), Soul Cycle (also a passion), and, well, whatever I feel like I guess...that's what this is all about, right?!
